EDUC 3413 Emergent Literacy (K–3)
This course is designed to provide the theoretical background and instructional strategies of PK–grade 3 literacy development: reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and visually representing. Students will examine phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary and text, comprehension, and fluency, as well as develop concepts and procedures that support the individual diverse needs of students, assess student learning, design parent communication and reflect upon instruction.
